BERLIN (AFP) \u2014 Le design est totalement inutile<\/span><\/strong>, se d\u00e9sole jeudi dans un entretien \u00e0 un magazine allemand la star fran\u00e7aise du genre, Philippe Starck<\/strong><\/a>, proclamant son intention de changer de m\u00e9tier d\u2019ici deux ans.<\/em><\/p>\n

“Tout ce que j\u2019ai cr\u00e9\u00e9 est absolument inutile. D\u2019un point de vue structurel, le design est totalement inutile. Un travail utile, c\u2019est astronome, biologiste ou quelque chose comme \u00e7a. Mais le design, \u00e7a n\u2019est rien”, a dit le cr\u00e9ateur \u00e2g\u00e9 de 59 ans au suppl\u00e9ment “Leben” de l\u2019hebdomadaire “Die Zeit”.<\/em><\/p>\n

“J\u2019ai essay\u00e9 de donner \u00e0 mes produits un peu de sens et d\u2019\u00e9nergie. Mais m\u00eame quand j\u2019ai donn\u00e9 le meilleur de moi-m\u00eame, c\u2019\u00e9tait absurde”, ajoute le designer, cr\u00e9ateur incontournable depuis les ann\u00e9es 1980, qui a dessin\u00e9 nombre de produits de grande consommation.<\/em><\/p>\n

“J\u2019ai cr\u00e9\u00e9 tellement de choses, sans vraiment m\u2019y int\u00e9resser. Peut-\u00eatre toutes ces ann\u00e9es ont-elles \u00e9t\u00e9 n\u00e9cessaires pour que je me rende compte finalement qu\u2019au fond nous n\u2019avons besoin de rien. Nous poss\u00e9dons toujours trop”, selon le cr\u00e9ateur.<\/em><\/p>\n

L\u2019homme n\u2019a besoin de “rien de mat\u00e9riel”, seulement de “capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 aimer”, d\u2019”intelligence”, d\u2019”humour” et d\u2019”\u00e9thique”, assure Starck<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n

“J\u2019\u00e9tais un producteur de mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9. J\u2019en ai honte. A l\u2019avenir, je veux \u00eatre un fabricant de concepts. Ce sera plus utile”.<\/em><\/p>\n

“Dans deux ans, j\u2019arr\u00eaterai, c\u2019est s\u00fbr.<\/strong><\/span> Je ferai autre chose, je ne sais pas encore quoi. Ce sera une nouvelle forme d\u2019expression. Une nouvelle arme, plus rapide, plus violente et plus l\u00e9g\u00e8re que le design”.<\/em><\/p>\n
