About AXIS XIA – Axis Xia, visual artist, from China. He works in Marseille, Paris and New York. Her work often uses different media and supports to explore and graft the possibilities between Eastern and Western cultures, the root of which lies in the search for the self. His style combines elements of pop art, formalist painting, abstract expressionism and oriental aesthetics. The different elements constitute a symbiotic relationship and a new mode of interpretation which influence each other. Intuition and experience are the “tools” of his painting. The tension between abstract and figurative images is supported by fluid or static subjective colors, emphasizing the relationship between matter and consciousness. Different levels of imagination and material properties are combined into a single image, thus evoking the oriental philosophy and poetry of the work.
