Le Blog D\u00e9co-Design<\/strong><\/a> fait une petite pause de 5 jours, mais ne vous inqui\u00e9tez pas nous vous proposons pendant notre absence une petite s\u00e9lection d\u2019assises qui sont devenus des ic\u00f4nes du design<\/strong>. On commence par la Wiggle Side Chair <\/strong>par Franck O.Gehry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"Wiggle<\/p>\n

Les meubles en carton, qui pr\u00e9sentent une alternative bon march\u00e9 et l\u00e9g\u00e8re aux meubles traditionnels, ont fait leur apparition dans les ann\u00e9es soixante. A cette \u00e9poque, on essayait d\u2019augmenter la r\u00e9sistance du carton ondul\u00e9 monocouche par diff\u00e9rentes techniques d\u2019assemblage et de pliage et l\u2019utilisation d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ments de soutien. Concurrenc\u00e9 par les meubles en plastique tout aussi l\u00e9gers, le carton ne r\u00e9ussit pas vraiment \u00e0 conqu\u00e9rir le public.
\nFrank O. Gehry<\/strong> a finalement d\u00e9couvert une technique qui allait permettre aux meubles en carton de retrouver leurs lettres de noblesse. “Je regardais un jour dans mon bureau une pile de carton ondul\u00e9, mat\u00e9riau que j\u2019utilisais pour mes maquettes de b\u00e2timents et je me suis mis \u00e0 jouer avec les morceaux, \u00e0 les entrecoller et \u00e0 d\u00e9couper l\u2019ensemble \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019une scie \u00e0 main et d\u2019un canif.” C\u2019est ainsi que des blocs massifs de carton purent \u00eatre transform\u00e9s en sculptures. Gehry<\/strong> d\u00e9cida d\u2019appeler le mat\u00e9riau, constitu\u00e9 de couches de carton entrecoll\u00e9es, Edge-Board, et commercialisa une premi\u00e8re s\u00e9rie de meubles en carton en 1972 sous l\u2019appellation Easy Edges.
\nElle obligea n\u00e9anmoins Frank Gehry<\/strong> \u00e0 jouer un r\u00f4le qui ne lui convenait pas. En outre, les tarifs de vente de ses r\u00e9alisations ne correspondaient pas, d\u2019autre part, \u00e0 son souhait de cr\u00e9er des meubles \u00e0 la port\u00e9e de tout un chacun.<\/p>\n
