La Panton Chair<\/strong> est n\u00e9e entre 1959 et 1960, la belle f\u00eate donc ses 50 ans !!! Pour l’occasion nous retra\u00e7ons son histoire en quelques photos, accompagn\u00e9es d’un texte \u00e9crit par Mathias Remmele -le commissaire d’exposition du Vitra<\/strong> Design Museum…<\/p>\n

1959 : Conception de la PANTON CHAIR<\/h2>\n

Impossible de dire aujourd\u2019hui avec pr\u00e9cision \u00e0 quelle date est n\u00e9e cette cr\u00e9ation de Verner Panton<\/strong> associ\u00e9e plus que toute autre \u00e0 son nom.- D\u2019apr\u00e8s les informations plut\u00f4t vagues qu\u2019il a fournies et ses rares esquisses non dat\u00e9es, il a d\u00fb cependant commencer \u00e0 se consacrer intensivement \u00e0 l\u2019id\u00e9e d\u2019un si\u00e8ge plastique monobloc en porte-\u00e0-faux en 1959 ou en 1960, sans se douter qu\u2019une petite d\u00e9cennie s\u2019\u00e9coulerait encore jusqu\u2019\u00e0 sa r\u00e9alisation. Lorsque la Panton Chair<\/strong> fut finalement commercialis\u00e9e en 1967 \u2013 c\u2019\u00e9tait le premier produit d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re autonome par Vitra<\/strong> \u2013 il sortait d\u2019une phase de d\u00e9veloppement particuli\u00e8rement longue et difficile qui ne prenait que temporairement fin avec sa mise sur le march\u00e9. En effet, ce si\u00e8ge qui s\u2019est rapidement hiss\u00e9 au rang de symbole d\u2019une \u00e9poque et d\u2019ic\u00f4ne du design devait subir plusieurs modifications en quelques ann\u00e9es, li\u00e9es au changement de mat\u00e9riau et de technologie de fabrication.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"PANTON<\/p>\n

1960 : PANTON CLASSIC 1ere version en polyestere et fibre de verre<\/h2>\n

L\u2019histoire d\u00e9bute dans les ann\u00e9es 60 lorsque Verner Panton<\/strong> pr\u00e9sente un mod\u00e8le tr\u00e8s \u00e9tir\u00e9 de si\u00e8ge en plastique \u00e0 Willi et Rolf Fehlbaum chez Vitra<\/strong>. Ils sont fascin\u00e9s par ce concept et veulent produire le si\u00e8ge en s\u00e9rie. Il entre finalement en production en 1967. Les premiers mod\u00e8les sont fabriqu\u00e9s en polyester renforc\u00e9 \u00e0 la fibre de verre, puis suivis par une version en mousse dure de polyur\u00e9thane (Baydur) et d\u2019une autre en Luran S inject\u00e9 (ASA). Il s\u2019est av\u00e9r\u00e9 que ce mat\u00e9riau vieillissait mal et finissait par se casser. C\u2019est pourquoi Vitra interrompt la production \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 70.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"PANTON<\/p>\n

Dans les ann\u00e9es 80, la fabrication reprend, \u00e0 l\u2019initiative de Verner Panton<\/strong>, selon le proc\u00e9d\u00e9 de moulage de mousse de polyur\u00e9thane, co\u00fbteux mais fiable, utilis\u00e9 jusqu\u2019\u00e0 aujourd\u2019hui. C\u2019est sous le nom de Panton Chair<\/strong> Classic que le si\u00e8ge est propos\u00e9 aux amateurs dans cette version.
\nLes technologies de plasturgie actuelles ont cependant tant \u00e9volu\u00e9 que la Panton Chair peut \u00e9galement \u00eatre fabriqu\u00e9e selon un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 d\u2019injection avec du polypropyl\u00e8ne enti\u00e8rement recyclable. Cette nouvelle transition vers la technique d\u2019injection permet d\u00e9sormais de proposer le si\u00e8ge \u00e0 un prix plusint\u00e9ressant qui rend ce classique accessible \u00e0 un large public.<\/em><\/p>\n

1989 : PANTON CHAIR Miniature<\/h2>\n

1998 : PANTON CHAIR version en polypropyl\u00e8ne<\/h2>\n

\"Le<\/a><\/p>\n

Le travail sur ce classique a continu\u00e9 m\u00eame apr\u00e8s la mort de Panton<\/strong> en 1998 et Vitra lan\u00e7ait en 2006, en accord avec Marianne Panton, un si\u00e8ge pour enfants bas\u00e9 sur d\u2019anciens plans, la Panton Junior. La Panton Chair<\/strong> a toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 une chaise particuli\u00e8rement appr\u00e9ci\u00e9e des enfants\u00a0: en raison de ses couleurs vives et joyeuses, de la douceur de ses courbes, et parce qu’il est possible d’y crapahuter ou d’en faire de magnifiques cabanes. Avec un mat\u00e9riau et des proportions inchang\u00e9s, la Panton Junior est plus petite d’environ un quart par rapport au mod\u00e8le habituel, ce qui en fait un si\u00e8ge id\u00e9al pour les enfants de maternelle ou de primaire. <\/em><\/p>\n
