Il y a quelques jours à Paris, j’ai eu la chance de rencontrer une de mes idoles – l’artiste FUTURA 2000, Lenny pour les intimes – pour la présentation de la collection prototype entre Futura Laboratories et Gore-Tex Studio… (english text below)
Pour être honnête avec vous, j’étais assez stressé et impatient de pouvoir approcher “the legend”, un artiste que j’ai apprécié sur le tard, mais dont le parcours force l’admiration. Je n’ai eu que 5min (enfin j’ai eu, j’étais pas prévu au planning, j’ai forcé la porte…^^) pour discuter avec lui sur cette collection, sa vision du beau, et bien sur essayer de lui faire signer mon blackbook…
GORE-TEX STUDIO x FUTURA LABORATORIES
La signature Futura Laboratories a été très présente dans l’univers de la mode ces derniers temps. Mais chaque collaboration m’enchante toujours, et pour celle-ci il a pris le temps de ré-inventer une combinaison GORE-TEX, un poncho et des baskets à semelle Vibram.
Le poncho ci-dessus est réservé uniquement aux amis et à la famille de la marque (limité à 400ex). Un bel objet de collection, paré d’une fermeture à lanières, des détails «Pointman» emblématiques de Futura (réalisés comme de simples flèches) et une forme rétro et épaisse.
Mais la pièce maîtresse de l’exposition était quatre combinaisons blanches; combinaisons GORE-TEX conçues exclusivement pour l’événement, chacune rehaussée par la signature et l’art de Futura…
Si vous n’avez jamais rencontré FUTURA 2000, autant vous dire que le gars est super cool, gentil. Il m’a salué chaleureusement, et nous avons commencé à a discuté sur sa vision du Beau.
Pour lui, tout est Beau c’est juste une question de point de vue. Il me confie que c’est un amoureux de fleurs, d’architecture, de cinéma et de musique. Il me cite des classiques comme Kubrick, Stevie Wonder… Mais nous sommes trop vite coupé par son planning millimétré. Sans perdre espoir, je fonce avec mon blackbook dans sa direction pour avoir un dessin, et là, la magie opère… Je vous laisser cliquer sur l’image pour découvrir la vidéo sur mon Instagram…

To be honest with you, I was quite stressed and impatient to be able to approach “the legend”, an artist whom I appreciated later, but whose career path commands admiration. I only had 5min (well, I had, I was not planned on the schedule, I forced the door … ^^) to discuss with him about this collection, his vision of the beautiful, and of course try to make him sign my blackbook …
The Futura Laboratories signature has been very present in the fashion world in recent times. But each collaboration always enchants me, and for this he took the time to re-invent a GORE-TEX combination, a poncho and sneakers with Vibram soles.
The poncho above is reserved only for friends and family of the brand (limited to 400ex). A beautiful collector’s item, adorned with a strap closure, iconic “Pointman” details from Futura (made like simple arrows) and a thick, retro shape.
But the centerpiece of the exhibit was four white jumpsuits; GORE-TEX suits designed exclusively for the event, each enhanced by the signature and art of Futura …
If you’ve never met FUTURA 2000, you might as well say that the guy is super cool, nice. He greeted me warmly, and we started to discuss his vision of Beauty.
For him, everything is beautiful, it’s just a question of point of view. He tells me that he is a lover of flowers, architecture, cinema and music. He cites classics like Kubrick, Stevie Wonder … But we are too quickly cut by his millimeter planning.
